CUMBERLAND — Stanley L. Goodrich, 84, of Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Golden Living Center.

Born July 24, 1928, in Gloucester, N.J., Mr. Goodrich was the son of the late Joseph Stanley Goodrich and Malinda (Cross) Goodrich. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Ann (Murray) Goodrich.

A United States Army veteran of the Korean Era, Stan retired from the Celanese Fibers Corporation of America Trucking Division and was also employed by Collins GMC where he was the Service Manager. He was an active member of the Living Word Lutheran Church where he was a member of the church choir. Stan was also a member of the City of Cumberland Planning and Zoning Appeals Board, and a former member of the Cumberland Elks. He enjoyed doing wood work and playing cards with friends.

Stan is survived by his wife of 32 years, Helen L. Goodrich; his son, Stanley L. Goodrich Jr. and wife Laura, of Frederick; his stepson, Ronald E. Isner, of Ridgeley, W.Va.; his sister, Joy Weaver and husband Charles “Bill,” of Cumberland; his  grandchildren, Stephan Goodrich and wife Victoria and Joshua Goodrich, all of Frederick, Kelly Oaks and husband Rick, of Lakewood, W.Va.; his great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Daniel Oaks and Seslie, Caleb, and Noah Goodrich; a special canine friend, Milton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, ( on Thursday, June 20, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday, June 21, 2013, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Dill officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.    

The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Stan’s name to the Living Word Lutheran Church Building Fund, Post Office Box 1825, Cumberland, MD 21501-1825.
