ROBERT L. SIMPSON [Martinsburg, W.Va.]

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Robert Leo Simpson, 94, of Martinsburg, W.Va., passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013, at the Martinsburg VA Center.

Born May 8, 1919, in Cumberland, Mr. Simpson was the son of the late Charles Frank Simpson and Bertha Mae (Fleckenstein) Simpson. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, G. Frank Simpson and Charles W. Simpson; his sisters, Romana Bonig and Regina Simpson and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

A Merchant Marine during World War II and a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mr. Simpson was a retired property manager.  

He is survived by his wife, Sookja (Kim) Simpson; his sons, Joseph Edward Campbell and Robert Antony Campbell; his daughter, Nancy D. Baugus; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and cousins.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, ( on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, from 1 to 2 p.m.

A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, SS. Peter and Paul Shrine on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at 2 p.m. with Father Greg Chervenak, O.F.M. Cap., as celebrant.

Interment will be in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.
