LAVALE — Patrick Edgar Trost, 71, of LaVale, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at his home.
Born Jan. 24, 1943 in Cumberland, Mr. Trost was the son of the late John Edgar and Marilee (Mower) Trost.
Pat was a graduate of Fort Hill High School, class of 1961, and graduated in 1967 from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. As a Registered Pharmacist, Pat served customers at several local businesses and just recently retired from the Cumberland Martin’s Pharmacy. During his career, Pat was honored with the Pharmacist of the Year Award.
Pat enjoyed anytime he could spend fishing. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, cruising, vacations at the lake, the beach, and spending time with family, especially their grandchildren. Pat was a member of the Former Kingsley United Methodist Church, now, the New covenant United Methodist Church, where he was an active member of the Men’s Group. He was also a member of the LaVale Lions Club where he worked with the Chicken Barbeque and Christmas tree sales.
Surviving is his high school sweetheart and wife of 46 years, Linda (Clites) Trost, to whom he was a loving and faithful husband. Pat was devoted to his two daughters, Stephanie Lynn Trost, Frederick and Melissa Ann and husband, Bernard Simpson, Keedysville; and spent every precious moment he could with the newest loves of his life, his grandchildren, Shane Patrick and Nora Violet Simpson. Pat is also survived by his sister, Debra Densmore, Mount Airy; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends; and his dog, “Queenie.”
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Friday, April 25, 2014 from 7 to 9 p.m.
A memorial service will be conducted at the New Covenant United Methodist Church, 1707 Frederick St., Cumberland, on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Christopher Gobrecht officiating. The family will also receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
