She attended Tucker and Grant County schools in West Virginia and graduated from Petersburg High School, Petersburg, W.Va. in 1939.

Janet married Carl Edward Weimer of Maysville on Dec. 28, 1939, and they were the parents of Elizabeth (Libby) Frye Ruoff, Margaret (Mar-gie) Boor and Carl Edward (Ed) Weimer Jr. M.D. In addition to her children, Mrs. Weimer is survived by her sons-in-law, William (Bill) D. Ruoff and John (Jack) L. Boor III; as well as her grandchildren, John William Frye Jr. (Sara), Carla Boor Smith (Paul Sr.), Mark Edward Frye (Kim), Rebekah Boor Green (Scott), Amanda Louise Hancock (Scott), Kaitlyn Louise Weimer, Abigail Leigh Weimer and Bridget Madison Weimer; and great-grandchildren, Mattina, Grace and Paul Smith Jr., Ada and Ethan Green, Jason, Lindsay, Seth and Rosemary Frye and Ernest Weimer Smith; and great-great-grandson, Boston Frye. Her sister, Josephine Cosner Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews and their descendents also survive Janet.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl who died in 1986; two brothers, George Dewey Cosner Jr. and James Orville Merle Cosner; four sisters, Ada Cosner Alt, Helen Cosner Parsons Bierman, Kathleen Cosner Lyon and Frances Cosner Hall; and a grandson, Ernest Weimer Frye. She was also preceded in death by a beloved aunt and uncle, Ada (Cosner) and W.H. Muntzing. Janet made her home with her Aunt Ada and Uncle Will during many years of her youth.

Janet made her profession of faith and was baptized at the age of 12 at the Brick Church of the Brethren in Maysville, where she was a lifelong member, song leader before that church formed a choir, children’s Sunday school teacher for many years and a Vacation Bible School teacher and director.

Janet was an ardent member of the Republican Party and served as a Maysville precinct worker for many years. She also attended numerous WV Republican conventions with her husband Carl.

Janet was a wonderful mother and homemaker and also worked in the family business, Weimer Brothers in Maysville. She was an exceptional cook, seamstress and hostess, but flower gardening was her outdoor passion and her home was always surrounded by breathtaking color during the growing season in West Virginia.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the wonderful care given to Janet through her last four years where she resided at Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg, Spring Arbor Assisted Living and Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab, both in Wilmington, N.C.

A memorial service will be held in Maysville, mid June.

Memorial donations may be made to the Brick Church of the Brethren, c/o Sue Kimble, 11191 Lunice Creek Hwy, Maysville, WV 26833.
