PAULINE TWIGG [Cumberland]

CUMBERLAND — Pauline (Van Pelt) Twigg, 93, of Cumberland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday May 3, 2014, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born on June 26, 1920, in Little Rock, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Martha and Samuel Van Pelt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Millard David Twigg in 1991 and her son Millard Wayne Twigg in 2009.

During World War II, Pauline worked in an ammunition factory and a clothing factory in Arkansas. After the war, upon marriage to Millard, she moved to Cumberland. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was also an excellent cook. She attended Central Assembly of God Church for many years.

Surviving are her son, Harold David Twigg and wife, Amy; three daughters, Nancy Twigg, Brenda Twigg, and Shirley (Twigg) Jackson and husband, Buster; six grandchildren, Amy K. Twigg, Julie Spence, Jason Twigg, Joel Jackson, Tonya Lantz, and Tia Hill; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A. ( 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Stevie Leydig officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Davis Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Twigg, Joel Jackson, Carl Spence, Aaron Spence, Brady Hill, and Duke Lantz.

The family wishes to thank Donna, Darlene, and the 7th Floor North staff at the Western Maryland Health System for their compassionate care of our mother.
