M. ELOWEEN JOHNSON [Mountain Lake Park]

MOUNTAIN LAKE PARK — M. Eloween Johnson, 94, of Mountain Lake Park, died on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va. Born on July 3, 1919, in Shafer, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John and Minnie E. (Ellis) Evans.

Eloween was a member of Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church in Oakland. Along with her late husband, Carl, she operated a dry cleaning business in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., for many years.

Eloween was an avid reader who loved to travel and listen to music.

She is survived by her daughter, Karlyn S. Price of Swanton; one grandson, Jonathan R. Price and wife Mariah of Swanton; two great-grandchildren, Owen Parker Price and Avery Elizabeth Price; three sisters, Dolores Hayden of Mountain Lake Park, Mona Lou Coberly of Elkton, Fla., and Sandra Bacon of Conroe, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl T. Johnson; a granddaughter, Meghan Elizabeth Price; two sisters, Willowdean Teets and Patty Evans; two brothers, John Evans Jr. and Donald Evans; and a son-in-law, John A. “Sonny” Price.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 12, from 5 to 8 p.m., in the Burdock- Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd St., Oakland.

A funeral service will be held in Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church, Oakland, on Tuesday, May 13, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Matthew Paugh officiating.

Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 318 E. Oak St., Oakland, MD 21550 or to a charity of one’s choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont, W.Va.
