ALMA L. FLASKAMP [Meridian, Miss]



MERIDIAN, Miss. — Alma Louvine Flaskamp, 88, of Meridian, formerly of Cumberland, went to her eternal resting place with the Lord and the love of her life, her husband, Norman, on Jan. 5, 2013 at her home, with her son, Ralph and his family at her side.

Born Alma Louvine Harper on April 17, 1924 in Mount Storm, W.Va., she was one of five children born to the late Boyd Lee Harper and Nyanza Belle (Biser) Harper.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Norman E. “Flash” Flaskamp Sr.; one son, Norman E. “Rick” Flaskamp Jr.; one sister, Marguerite Blume; and two brothers, Robert and Earl Harper.

Ms. Flaskamp was a homemaker who loved cooking, sewing, crafts, gardening and caring for her family.

She is survived by three sons, the Rev. Ralph Flaskamp and his wife, Frances “Pam”, Meridian, George Flaskamp, Cumberland, and Mark Flaskamp, Port Richey, Fla.; one brother, Floyd Harper, Cumberland; 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Friends were received at the Robert Burham Family Funeral Home, Meridian, on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens on Friday with a family ceremony at the gravesite.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.
