AGNES E. (CHABOT) PASSAPAE [Dundalk]

DUNDALK — Longtime Dundalk resident and retired Hutzler employee, Agnes E. (Chabot) Passapae, 90, died of natural causes Nov. 14, 2012, at Oakcrest Village.

Born in Eckhart Mines, Mrs. Passapae was one of 15 siblings. She attended St. Michael School in Frostburg and also cared for her younger siblings while growing up in Western Maryland. Mrs. Passapae married her husband, Vernon, in 1942, later moving to Dundalk in 1950.

The couple lived on Wise Avenue for over 50 years, where they reared their two children, Janet Passapae-Sauer and Thomas Gary Passapae. Her husband, Vernon, predeceased her in 2006. Mrs. Passapae then moved to Cove Point Apartments in 2006 and then to Oakcrest Village in 2011.

Mrs. Passapae was predeceased by nine of her siblings.

She is survived by four brothers, Thomas and wife Dolores, Bernard, Leonard and wife Joyce and Richard Chabot. She is survived by her sister, Pat; and sister-in-law, Wanda. She is also survived by her son, Gary; daughter, Janet; son-in-law, Francis Sauer; two granddaughters, Beth and Katie Sauer; as well as two step-grandchildren, Wendy King and Brian Sauer.

Mrs. Passapae was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She gave of her time unselfishly. She was also a long time member of St. Rita Parish, where she engaged in parish related activties. She worked in retail at Hutzler Department Store in Eastpoint Mall from 1963 until the store closed. Mrs. Passapae enjoyed working in her rose garden, taking walks, and spending time with family and friends. She also liked animals, especially taking care of the family’s pet dogs. She enjoyed music, reading and spending time with her granddaughters.

A Catholic Mass will be held in memory of Mrs. Passapae on Jan. 19, 2013 at the Oakcrest Village Chapel, Parkville, at 1 p.m. A reception to celebrate her life will follow on the Oakcrest Village campus.
