— FRIENDSVILLE — Nellie Irene Bishoff, 91, of Friendsville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at her residence.

Born Dec. 22, 1921, in Accident, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Lillie (Gnegy) Peck. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Robert C. Bishoff, on Jan. 25, 2011; three brothers and a sister.

She is survived by a daughter, Anita E. Ringeisen and husband Jack and family formerly of Harmony, Pa., now of St. Augustine, Fla.

Nellie graduated from Accident High School, Accident and had a beauty school diploma. She worked at the Glen L. Martin plant in Baltimore during World War II. She returned to Garrett County in 1947 with her husband and working with him with milk trucks and raising chickens. She also worked at the Accident Voting Polls for many years.

She was a member of the Hoyes United Methodist Church from 1947 and was active in the Ladies Aid Society.

Nellie and Bob enjoyed spending the winters at their Florida home for many years.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 26722 Garrett Highway, Accident (McHenry), on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Hoyes United Methodist Church on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William Durst officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.

Interment will be in the Hoyes United Methodist Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to charity of choice.
