RIDGELEY, W.Va. — Edgar “Ed” James Golden Jr., 85, of Ridgeley, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 at home.
Born Oct. 27, 1927 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Edgar James Golden Sr. and Julia (Henderson) Golden.
He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Howard Golden, Don Golden, Mary Turner, Arthur Golden, and Zelene Singleton.
Mr. Golden had served in the U.S. Navy during the time of the Korean Conflict.
He was retired from the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, having been a tire builder.
Mr. Golden belonged to Aerie 2883, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Cresaptown.
As a young man, Mr. Golden was a very good baseball and softball player. He also enjoyed bowling.
Survivors include his wife, Martha (Barkley) Golden; two sons, Edgar Lee Golden, and wife Sharon, and Mark Golden, all of Ridgeley; six grandchildren, Shawn Michelle Llewellyn, Shay Ann Golden, Eric Golden, Kyle Golden, Colon Golden, and Megan Davis; and, six great-grandchildren, Bailey Llewellyn, Rylan Llewellyn, Adele Golden, Emily Golden, Allison Golden, Camille, Golden, and Elise Golden.
As per his wishes, Mr. Golden will be cremated.
The family would like to thank the Golden Living Center, as well as Tom Bostaph and his staff, for the kind, compassionate care they provided to Mr. Golden.
