FROSTBURG — Virginia Metzger Clark, 99, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at Frostburg Village Assisted Living, where she resided since Sept. 2005. Ginny lived in Frostburg since 1973.
Born Aug. 10, 1913 in New Orleans, La., she was the daughter of the late Daniel Ross and Bessie (Cowan) Metzger. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Cowan Metzger in 1982; her husband, Col. Charles I. Clark in 1989; and by cousins, J. Galen Metzger and E.J. Wellington Metzger.
She was a graduate of Buffalo Seminary, Buffalo, N.Y., and the Gardner Business School, New York City. She also lived in Washington, D.C., James-town, N.Y., and Philadelphia, Pa.
She was a Red Cross volunteer for 50 years, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution at Large, a member of Salem United Church of Christ, a charter member of the Frostburg Museum Association, and, a supporter of the Frostburg Community Library.
She is survived by cousins, Dorothy W. Metzger and J. Bradley Metzger, LaVale, Ann Metzger Potter, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and, Molly Metzger Edelen, Worcester, Mass.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Funeral Service, P.A. Chapel of the Hills, 1302 National Hwy., LaVale, on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. The funeral service will be follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. Rebecca Vardiman, officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

Ginny’s family wishes to thank all the staff at Frostburg Village Assisted Living for their kindness, compassion, and friendship while she was a resident there. Staff and residents were truly her extended family during the past seven years.
