— CUMBERLAND — Linda Katherine Grebenstein, 72, of Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born February 15, 1940, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Katherine (Dyche) Kuhlman. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. Grebenstein on Jan. 25, 1997; and a sister, Margaret Cunningham.

Mrs. Grebenstein was a 1957 graduate of Catholic Girls Central High School. She was a member of Our Lady of the Mountains parish, and a former member of Saint Mary Catholic Church. Linda was a member of the Sultana Organization of the Wamba Caravan 89 Order of Alhambra. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in their activities. She was also an avid bowler who participated in many local bowling leagues.

She is survived by a daughter, Karla Grebenstein, Locust Grove, Va.; a son, Scott A. Grebenstein and wife Karen, Laurel; two grandchildren, William L. Grebenstein, a student at Coppin State University and Katherine A. Grebenstein, Laurel. Also surviving are two brothers-in-law, Karl Grebenstein and wife Dorotha, Cresaptown and James Hillebrecht, Arizona; a sister, Mary Dorothy Morton, LaVale; several nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Cathy Carter and husband Joe, of Cumberland.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, ( on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Mary Catholic Church on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at 10 a.m.

Interment will be in the Maryland State Veteran’s Cemetery, Rocky Gap.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wamba Caravan 89 Order of Alhambra.
