ELLERSLIE — Wilbur “Monty” Montell Madden, 76, of Ellerslie, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013 at the WMHS Frostburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Sep. 25, 1936, in Ellerslie, Mr. Madden was the son of the late Wilbur Brace Madden and Arvella Myrtle (Schroyer) Madden.

A graduate of Mount Savage High School, class of 1956, and a veteran of the United States Army, Monty was formerly employed with the General Motors plant in Cleveland, Ohio and also employed at Kelly Springfield Tire and Rubber Company in Cumberland. He attended Calvary Bible Church. Monty played the guitar and mandolin with his band, Tri-State Country, for 13 years. He was a member and Chief of the Ellerslie Volunteer Fire Department and an avid hunter and fisherman.

Monty is survived by a daughter, Lisa Tillery and husband Ronnie, Cumberland; a sister, Janet Armstrong, Ellerslie; three grandchildren, Brandon Remson, Alyssa Tillery, and Kyra Tillery.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland,  ( on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Ken Korns officiating.

Interment will be in Porter Cemetery.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post 13 Veterans Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Remson, Ronnie Tillery, Joe Rank, John Dom, Bobby Nichols, and Will Harris.
