OAKLAND — Earl Delbert “Dutch” Gordon, 86, of Oakland, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born July 3, 1926, in Oakland, he was the son of the late Thomas William and Dora Lucynthia (Rinker) Gordon. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Gordon and John Gordon; two step-brothers, Lemon Gordon and Floyd Gordon; one sister, Virginia Miller; two step-sisters, Mabel Boring and Anna Gordon.
Dutch worked as a woodsman for Sisler Lumber Company and Bittinger Timber Company. He loved to collect antique bottles and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 203 S. Second St., Oakland, on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Donald Matthews officiating.
Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery.
