YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Gary Wayne Bowman, 72, of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at the Camelot Arms Care Center.
Born Oct. 30, 1940, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Melvin E. and Aleatha O. (Riggleman) Bowman. He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Edith Buser, William “Tex” Bowman, Raymond Bowman, Helen O’Toole, Erma DeVore, Melvin E. Bowman Jr., Evelyn Hansford, Patricia Phillips, Gerald Bowman, Paul Bowman, Dorothy Weisenmiller, Catherine Deiley and Vivian Bowman.
Gary loved to be in the outdoors and especially loved to go fishing. He worked for a company for years, where he would assemble parts. Gary was also an excellent salesman, and sold for Blair Company. He especially loved playing practical jokes and telling jokes. Gary was a Special Olympian, where he was awarded a bronze medal. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his wife, Cynthia Louise Bowman and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Barkley officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
