Raymond O. James Sr. [Cumberland]

CUMBERLAND — Raymond Orville James Sr., 70, of Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born Aug. 3, 1941 in Wiley Ford, W.Va., he was the son of the late Carrie L. (Houdershell) James and Ray O. James.  He was preceded in death by his step-mother Dorothy (Simmons) James; and his two brothers, Franklin H. James Sr., and Harold V. James Sr.  

Mr. James worked for Stan’s Auto Body, where he was a Collision Repairman.  He was also a cook at the Shrine Club.  He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors.

Surviving are his children, Melinda Wariner, Raymond James Jr.; step-son, Justin James; grandchildren, Kayla, Gypsy, Raeven, Saphira; brothers and sisters, Estaline C. Kifer, Garland F. James Sr., Fay L. Thomas, and Annette K. Robinette; and numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave. (www. Cumberland, on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 6 p.m.  

As per his request, he will be cremated following the funeral service.
