— CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Mary Alice (Riley) Hubbard, 84, of Charleston, formerly of Keyser, W.Va. and Whitesville, W.Va., died on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston.

Born Feb. 5, 1929, in Ridgeview, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Jane Ellen and Joseph Riley. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Robert L. Hubbard; her five sisters, Annie Higginbotham, Florence Heisler, Margaret Nichol, Sarah Riley and Alice Riley; one brother, Raymond Clark, and three granddaughters, Angela Tetoff, Melissa Dixon and Sarah Wallace.

Mary worked for years as a Postmaster in Ridgeview, nursing assistant at the Children’s Hospital in Marmet, W.Va., and as a homemaker caring for her children and grandchildren. Mary enjoyed cooking, gardening and most of all spending time with her family.

Survivors include her sons, John Hubbard and wife Debbie, of Yawkey, W.Va., Dennis Hubbard and wife Donna, of South Charleston, W.Va.; daughters, Judy Michael and husband Dave, of Charleston, Peggy Tetoff and husband Frankie, of Nitro, W.Va. and Denise Marsh and husband Jeff, of Barton; and eight grandchildren, Dave Michael Jr. and wife Nikki, of Galliton Tenn., Brian Hubbard, of Yawkey, Dennis Hubbard Jr., of South Charleston, Jennifer Taylor and husband Micah, of Cross Lanes, W.Va., Jessica Shamblin and husband Warren, of Buffalo, W.Va., Heather Walker and husband Mark, of Sylvester, W.Va., Caitlyn Marsh, of Barton and Payton Marsh of Barton. Mary has 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild with her second due in April. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received at Armstrong Funeral Home, in Whitesville, on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from noon to 2 p.m.

The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Sherry Kinsey of the Nazarene Church in Buffalo,  W.Va.

Interment will be at Boone Memorial Park in Madison, W.Va.
