The following poem was written by Mike to Wanda on Valentine’s Day 2007:

Rosie,

Happy Valentine’s Day-

Things, times, and people change,

Our love and faith remain the same.

Once shaving lotion splashed on thick,

Now merely getting shaved does the trick.

I’ve slipped, that’s easy to see

Look closely, I’m still me.

Loving you more each day

Is the only way.

Tools were my friends.

I respect them more now than I did then.

Today is about you and all you do

Why I can’t get dressed right

And who tucks me in every night

Our children and grandchildren love you so much!

They call to stay in touch.

Your standards are high,

Think of who’s waiting for you in Heaven’s sky.

Always looking nice on the outside,

Same way on the inside.

Bumpy or smooth, together we travel on —

I love you Rosie, Always have, Always will.

All my love,

Charlie
