OLDTOWN — Wayne Lewis Boggs Sr., 62, of Oldtown, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born on Oct. 31, 1950, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Gerald and Margaret (Bloss) Boggs.
Wayne was a member of the IBEW Local 307 where he worked as an electrician, and was a member of the Goodfellowship Club. He was Methodist by faith. Wayne loved being outdoors, and especially loved farming and hunting.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Judy Boggs; his daughter, Christi McCullough and husband James, of Ridgeley W.Va.; his son, Wayne Lewis Boggs Jr. and wife Brenda, of Reisterstown; two sisters, Geraldine Harworth and husband Pete and Marlene Hammersmith and special friend Dave; three brothers, Albert Boggs, Alvin Boggs and wife Wanda and Calvin Boggs and wife Donna; three grandchildren, Louis Bauer IV, Tiffani Bauer, and Emily Boggs; one great-grandson, Louis “Bub-by” Bauer V and several nie-ces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A. (www.scarpellifh.com) 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers will conduct a service at 7:30 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Charles Riggleman and Pastor Mike Santmyire officiating.
Interment will be at his family farm.
