EDNA M. UHL [Cumberland]

CUMBERLAND — Edna Marie Uhl, 85 of Cumberland, passed away at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center on Friday, May 10, 2013.

Born May 9, 1928 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Frank H. and Viola May (Gurtler) Stuby. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Philip M. Reuschel and Mervin E. Uhl Sr.; and a great-grandson, Ethan S. Reuschel.

Edna was a 1946 graduate of Fort Hill High School and served as office manager at People’s Life insurance Company. She was member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Goodfellowship Club.

She is survived by a daughter, Cindy S. Jones and husband Gary, Cumberland; a son, Philip B. Reuschel, Cumberland; five grandchildren, Darron W. Jones, Ashlee Jones, Brittney L. Martin and husband Brison, Christopher Reuschel and Nikki M. Reuschel; and two great-grandchildren, Ashton C. Reuschel and Orien Lohr.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, (www.scarpellifh.com) on Monday, May 13, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m.

As per her wishes, she will be cremated.

A memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 7 p.m.

Inurnment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Allegany County Animal Shelter, 716 Furnace St., Cumberland, MD 21502 or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105.
