— FROSTBURG — Anna "Ann" Ruth Kennell, 94, of Frostburg, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at her home.

Born in Frostburg on Aug. 15, 1918, she was the daughter of the late James Skidmore and Elizabeth (Rupp) Skidmore. She is preceded in death by husbands, Roy Douty and Merle Kennell; brother Carl Skidmore; sisters, Helen Pollock, Viola Keister, Elizabeth Harden, and Susan Barry.

She was a member of Welsh Memorial Baptist Church, Women of the Moose 221, Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary 1273, and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 24.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Kaye Powell and husband Gary, Cumberland; son Royce Douty and wife Wanda, Frostburg; grandchildren, Jeffrey Powell and wife Aline, Denise Hammersmith and fiancée Charles Iliff, Renee Powell and fiancée Philip Kraus, Crystal Brown and husband Ronald, and Roy Douty; great- grandchildren, Meghan Hammersmith, Emily Powell, Chloe Powell, Christopher Brown, and Rachel Brown; step-grandchildren, Shawn Smith and Billy Smith; and brother James Skidmore, Laurel.

Also, special friends Bob and Marilyn Stevenson and many nieces and nephews. Also caregiver Lisa Keating.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Winborn officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Philip Kraus, Shawn Smith, Charles Iliff, Billy Smith, George Kroll, and Francis Giles.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Welsh Memorial Baptist Church , 17 Beall St., Frostburg, MD 21532.
