EDWARD C. LEASE [Versailles, Ohio]

VERSAILLES, Ohio — Edward C. Lease Sr., 80, of Versailles, passed away Thursday morning, May 16, 2013, at his residence.

He was born, June 14, 1932, in Westernport, son of the late Noah W. and Alice M. Lease. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Nancy Lease; and a great-grandson, Jason Waylon.

Ed was retired in 1984 from Westinghouse/A.O. Smith in Union City, Ind. He was a member of the Oakland Church of the Brethren near Bradford, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce A. (Beireis) Lease, whom he married Oct. 4, 1958; children, Sue (John) Jenkins of Ansonia, Ohio, Alice M. Craig of Versailles, Edward C. (Donna) Lease Jr. of Versailles, and Tom Lease of Bradford; grandchildren, John Jenkins Jr., James Jenkins, Chris Ford, E.J. Lease, Larry Lease, Maggie Yonkers, and Annie Stinson; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Ryan, Jared, and Chelsea Ford, Airianna, Star, Hanson, and Bradon Stinson, Amber Jones, Alyson and Emily Lease; brothers, Owen (Paulette) Lease of Florida, Rev. Martin (Alice) Lease of LaVale, Lawrence Lease of Westernport, and Ernest (Linda) Lease of Mt. Summit, Ind.; a sister, Glenna (Bobby) Heavener of Keyser, W.Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the Oakland Church of the Brethren, with Pastor Burt Wolf officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, 1000 N. Broadway St., Greenville, Ohio, Monday, May 20, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Oakland Church of the Brethren, 8058 Horatio Harris Creek Road, Bradford, OH 45308.
