SPRINGS, Pa. — Blaine Edward Miller, 78, of Springs, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at Cherry Hill Assisted Living, Accident.
Born Feb. 25, 1935, in Springs, he was the son of the late Myron G. and Grace O. (Moser) Miller. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Catherine (Stanton) Miller, March 17, 2012; one sister, Elnora K. Miller; and one brother, Elton Miller.
Mr. Miller was a professional land surveyor, having been licensed in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Maryland. He was a member of Springs Mennonite Church, where he served as Sunday School teacher and a member of the Springs Cemetery Committee. He was also a member of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, Western Maryland Society of Surveyors and the American Chestnut Society.
Surviving are one son, Mitchell James Miller and wife, Susan, Frostburg; two brothers, Dick Miller and wife, Emma and Gary Miller and wife, Greta, all of Springs.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Eric Haglund officiating.
Interment will be in Springs Cemetery.
