MARVIN B. BEUTELSPACHER [Frostburg]

FROSTBURG — Marvin Barry Beutelspacher, 62, of Frostburg, peacefully departed this world on Sunday, March 10, 2013.

Born in Catonsville, on Oct. 6, 1950. He spent his childhood in Catonsville, and moved to the mountains of Western Maryland in 1975.

He was preceded in death by his father Marvin K. Beutelspacher and is survived by his mother, Esther L. Beutelspacher of Westminster.

Barry is survived by his wife Constance Rae (Lapp) Beutelspacher of 38 years. He is survived by three daughters, Sarah G. Beutelspacher and husband Michael R. Kuykendall of Cumberland, Cathy Klumpp and husband Billy of San Antonio, Texas and Marcia Messer and husband Perry of San Antonio. In addition to his devoted wife and loving daughters, Barry is survived by eight vivacious and active grandchildren, Baylee Kuykendall of Cumberland, Morgan, Blake and Parker Klumpp of San Antonio, and Hunter, Cooper, Keller and Piper Messer of San Antonio. He is survived by his brother, David Bruce Beutelspacher and wife Sue; sister, Lois Carol Smith and husband Ron; as well as three nieces and three nephews and several cousins that he considered brothers and sisters.

Barry was a plumber and pipe fitter. He received his Journeyman and Master Plumbing certifications. Barry served as an active member of the Episcopal Church during his childhood serving as an acolyte and bearer of the cross. Throughout his adult life he was a member of the vestry at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Frostburg. Barry was a standing member of the Frostburg Elks, Frostburg Eagles and Haystack Mountain Sportsman Club.

An avid and active man, Barry lived life to the fullest. There was never an opportunity for the grass to grow under his feet. When one needed something fixed, Barry was the man for the job. His meticulous attention to detail revealed the pride he took in all that he did for others. Barry loved sports and never found a sport at which he did not excel and leave others slightly envious of his ability. Times that Barry could be found at most peace in life he would be found in his garden accompanied by the love of his and life and apple of his eye, Baylee Reese, and his two four legged sons Mousse and Tanner. Baylee and Poppy shared a bond that can never be replicated between two souls and warmed that hearts of all that knew their love of each other.

A Celebration of New Life will be celebrated on at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Frostburg, on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. At Barry’s requested he will be cremated. Although Barry is soaring high above in heaven and living an eternal life with God our father, his remains will be laid to rest in Columbarium at St. John’s Episcopal Church.

A post requiem Eucharist reception for family and friends to gather will be held in the parish hall of St. John’s Church immediately following this service.

In observance of the Episcopalian tradition during Lent, the family request that in lieu of flowers, please turn your generosity by helping others as did Barry by donating to the Animal Shelter of Allegany County or donate blood to the American Red Cross.

Condolences may be sent to the family at durstfuneralhome.com.
