— ELK GARDEN, W.Va. — Karen Sue Findley, 60, died on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at her home in Elk Garden, W.Va.  

Born on Sept. 17, 1953, in Rockingham County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Rosa Elizabeth Combs. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gene L. Funkhouser.

Karen was a graduate of Union High School in Mt. Storm, W.Va. She enjoyed spending time outdoors with friends and family riding motorcycles and ATVs.  

Karen is survived by her husband of 41 years, James T. Findley Sr.; two children, James T. Findley Jr. and wife Diane, of Clendenin, W.Va. and Angela S. Findley and fiance Larry Porter, of Elk Garden, W.Va.; siblings, Harold C. Funkhouser, of Elk Garden, W.Va., Woodrow W. Funkhouser Jr. and wife Margaret, of Baker, W.Va. and Violet Kitzmiller, of Mount Storm and several nieces and nephews and their families.  

Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland, on Sunday, Dec. 1, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Per Karen’s wishes, she will be cremated.
