ESSEX — Marvin Willard “Pop Pop” Warnick Sr., 96, of Essex, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at his residence.
Born April 5, 1916, in Jennings, he was the son of the late Olin and Birdie (Warnick) Warnick. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, his twin, Homer Warnick and Nevin Warnick; and a sister, Freda Main.
Mr. Warnick was a planner and scheduler for Glenn L. Martin-Marietta Corp. and a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
He is survived by a son, Marvin W. “Marzie” Warnick Jr., Aberdeen; seven grandchildren, Robyn Warnick, Durae Allen, Kimi Kai Henderson, Sean-Paul Warnick, Bob Gossman Jr., Cristina Palmer and David Gossman Sr.; and 11 great-grandchildren, Erika Warnick, Brittany Allen, Keirstyn Henderson, Zachary Henderson, Kayla Buta, Kavin Warnick, Marley Gossman, Josh Palmer, Zoey Gossman, Hayden Palmer and David Gossman Jr.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Randolf Richardson officiating.
Interment will be in the Grantsville Cemetery.
