— CUMBERLAND — Betty Lee (Stafford) Paxton, 82, of Hinkle Road, Cumberland, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Golden Living Center.

Born Sept. 8, 1930, in Cumberland, Mrs. Paxton was the daughter of the late Joseph Berkley Stafford and Elsie Leona (Rice) Stafford. She was also preceded in death by son, Danny P. Paxton; grandson, Alan Paxton Jr.; a brother, Joseph M. Stafford and her sisters, Lula Mae Barger, Beulah G. Paxton and Dorothy J. (Stafford) Smith.

Betty was a member of Livingstone Church of the Brethren, a former hair dresser and a talented seamstress. She also previously worked as a nurse assistant at Cumberland Nursing Home (now known as Golden Living Center). She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her spouse of 63 years Eston (Eck) Paxton; her sons, Alan D. Paxton and wife Sara and Rodney J. Paxton and wife Cathy, of Cumberland; her daughter Vicky L. Tibbetts and husband Mac, of Idaho; her sisters, Florence Passauer, Georgia Berkley and husband Clar-ence, of Ohio and Elsie V. Weimer, of Cumberland and her brother-in-law, Vernon Smith, of South Carolina. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Rodney (Josey) Paxton, Justin Paxton, Ashley Paxton, Jeremy Paxton, Joshua Paxton, Jacob Paxton and Andrew Paxton, of Cumberland, Daniel Ginter Jr., of Florida, Heather Lockhart, of Capon Bridge, W.Va., Jennifer Moore, of Martinsburg, W.Va., Tonya Mechling, of Oregon and Shanda Ginter and Trisha McCabe, of Idaho as well as her great-grandchildren; nie-ces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, ( with food and refreshments following at Livingstone Church of the Brethren in Cumberland.
