VIRGIL M. SITES [Burlington, W.Va.]

BURLINGTON, W.Va. — Virgil M. Sites, 89, of Dry Run Road, Burlington, W.Va., died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at his residence.

Born on July 31, 1923, at Moorefield, W.Va., he was a son of the late Joseph S. And Beulah M. (Smith) Sites.

Mr. Sites was retired with 40 years of service with the Westvaco Luke Mill. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of the Fountain Gospel Chapel, Nancy Hanks Post 3518, VFW, Keyser, W.Va. and Victory Post 155, American Legion, Westernport.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Dorothy V. (Lemon) Sites; an adopted daughter, Melissa Riley, her husband Virgil and their family of Keyser; one brother, Claude Sites, of Sun City, Fla.; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Norman and Joann Lemon and Goldie Swick and nieces and nephews Tenly Sites, John and Cindy Lemon, Michael and Sharon Lemon, Norma Jean Lemon, James and Nancy Swick and Robert and Phyllis Swick.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Burlington Chapel, on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Fountain Gospel Chapel on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Michael Goldizen officiating. Friends may also call at the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in the Smith Family Cemetery, Old Fields, W.Va.
