ROLAND P. BARR [Petersburg, W.Va.]

PETERSBURG, W.Va. — Roland P. Barr, 81, of Petersburg, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012.

He was born July 3, 1931 at Dorcas, W.Va., and was the son of the late Edward and Hazel (Sites) Barr.

Mr. Barr was a graduate of PHS Class of 1951 and from Strayer Business College in Washington, DC in 1958. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955.

He worked at Roby Ford in Petersburg and was co-owner and operator of Best Auto Sales before retiring as the County Appraiser.

He loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer and hunter. He was an active member of Grove Street United Meth-odist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kitty Lou (Hull) Barr; one daughter, Cindy (Clifton) Strosnider of Petersburg, W.Va.; two sons, Perry (Tina) Barr of Moorefield, W.Va., Jay Barr of Annapolis; three grandchildren, Heather Strosnider of Atlanta, Ga., Kara (Bill) Riggleman of Petersburg, W.Va., Adam Stro-snider of Petersburg, W.Va.; two great-grandsons, Lucas and Matthew Riggleman; four sisters, Wilda Kimble of Petersburg, W.Va., Louise Vance of Petersburg, W.Va., Irene Webster of Moorefield, W.Va., Linda Turner of Petersburg, W.Va.; and three brothers, Harvey Barr of Petersburg, W.Va., Carl Barr of Shepherdstown, W.Va., Wayne Barr of Delmar, Del.

Family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, W.Va.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with the Rev. William R. Brown and the Rev. Richard L. Longbon officiating.

Interment will follow in the Lahmansville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grove Street United Methodist Church in Petersburg or Charity of the donors choice.
