WILEY FORD, W.Va. — Nellie V. Youngblood, 91, of Wiley Ford, passed away peacefully at the Golden Living Center on Tuesday Sept. 24, 2013. Nellie’s pain and suffering has finally ended, and she is reunited with her husband, Bernard C. Youngblood.

Born on July 4, 1922, in Moorefield, W.Va., she was the daughter of Jess and Florence (Weese) Crites. Besides her parents and husband, Nellie was preceded in death by eight brothers and one sister.

Nellie was employed in the mid 1970’s as a nursing assistant at the Golden Living Center. She was an excellent care giver and she received great satisfaction from helping others. Nellie was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, and she loved the members of the church, and they loved her in return. Most of all, she enjoyed preparing large meals for her family and friends.  

She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Youngblood Saville and her husband John, Short Gap, W.Va. and Patti Youngblood Carder and husband Jim, Wiley Ford; five grandchildren that she loved and adored, Johnny Saville and wife Cameron, North Carolina, Julie Saville Meadows and Bryan Ziler, LaVale, Heather Carder Chaney and husband Matt, Elkridge, Christian Carder and wife Dawn, Cumberland, and Jessica Carder Dimbokowitz and husband Drew, Belcamp. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, Haley, Ramsey, Raina, Hannah, Sarah, Cole, Caden, Dyllan Ayn, Payton Grace, Carder Jax.

Nellie gave her family unconditional love and support in all their endeavors. We were blessed to have her in our lives, and we shall cherish the many memories we have of her.  

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, ( on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013 from 5 to 8 pm.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday 10 a.m. with Pastor Richard Jewell officiating.  

Interment will be in Davis Memorial Cemetery.
