CUMBERLAND — Zondra “Sis” Jean McCoy, 65, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 2013 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born May 19, 1948 in Frostburg, Mrs. McCoy was the daughter of Helen Jean (Gilpin) LeGeer, LaVale, and the late Walter Leslie Frankenberry. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Frankenberry.
Zondra retired from the LaVale McDonalds with 26 years of service. She was a member of the LaVale Baptist Church; and a past member of the Cumberland Elks Lodge 63. Zondra was an avid card and bingo player and a great wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Zondra is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ronald McCoy; her son, Brian McCoy and wife, Connie, Corriganville; and her daughters, Michele Zimmer and husband, Jeff, Elkridge, and Renee Buckbee and husband, Benny, LaVale. She is also survived by her sister, Caren Combs and husband, Robert, Cumberland; her half-sister, Leslie Hathaway, Madison, Ohio; her grandchildren, Tanner Buckbee, Derek Zimmer, Ryan McCoy, Hailey McCoy, Seth Buckbee, Nicole Zimmer and Sarah Gene McCoy; two very close friends, Betty Conner, Corriganville, and Debbie Moore, Cumberland; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a great grand dog: Annie.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jim Jeffries officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
