CRESAPTOWN — Odell “Ode” Wilbur Warnick, 86, of Cresaptown, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 18, 1927, in Deer Park, Mr. Warnick was the son of the late Alonzo Warnick and Jennie Mae (Wiland) Warnick. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Gladys Elaine Warnick, on Jan. 29, 2013; a brother, Woodrow Warnick; a sister, Evelyn Warnick and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
A United States Army veteran during World War II, Ode was a former truck driver and beverage salesman. He enjoyed doing yard work for over 25 years and was a regular customer at the K-Bar where he gained many friends over the years. Ode never met a stranger and was known for his jokes. He was an avid sports and baseball fan.
He is survived by his daughter, Lucinda “Cindy” Teter and husband Randy, of Flintstone and his granddaughters, Brittni Teter and fiance Marty Kaetzel and Cherish Teter, all of Flintstone.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Floyd Bender officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post 13 Veterans Honor Guard.
