GLENN L. HILLEGAS [Cumberland]

— CUMBERLAND — Glenn L. Hillegas, 82, formerly of Cumberland, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Carolyn; his daughters, Carla Gibb and Leslie Meadows (Bill), his granddaughter, Katherine and great-grandson, Cayden, all of whom live in the Gulf Shores area. Also surviving are his sister, Jeane Davis (Don) and four brothers, Dale, Dalton, Jim and Earl Hillegas, all of whom live in Cumberland.

Glenn was the son of Albert and Ida Hillegas. He grew up in Cumberland and graduated from Fort Hill High School. He served in the Korean conflict in the U.S. Navy Patrol Squadron 7. In l987, he retired from the U.S. Secret Service in Washington, D.C. after serving 21 years. Glenn will be missed by all who knew him and by his little dog, Eddie.

A memorial service will be held in the Gulf Shores United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15.
