VIENNA, Va. — Daniel Joseph “Dan” DuVall Sr., 68, of Vienna Va., passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014, at home.
Born on Aug. 30, 1945 in Catonsville, he was the son of the late Walter H and Caroline (Wiegand) DuVall. He was also preceded in death by his son, Damian Ryan DuVall.
Dan served his country in the Maryland National Guard. Dan speant a majority of his life in Cumberland. He was a past member of the Alhambra, the Cumberland Zoning Board, and the Saint Patrick’s Council. Dan loved sports, and coached many different youth sports over the years from football to basketball. He was an avid Baltimore sports fan. He also had a love for animals, and especially horses, and even owned some over the years. He was a business owner most of his life. Dan was a devoted and hardworking father.
Surviving are his daughter, Desiree Bianca DuVall; three sons, Daniel Joseph DuVall II, Justin Adrian DuVall, Derrick Quinton DuVall; two sisters, Eleanor Bell and Merle Feathers; three grandchildren, Mikaela Isabel DuVall, Raven Allyn DuVall, and Justin Alexander DuVall; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A. (www.scarpellifh.com) 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland on Sunday 5 to 8 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. with Father Mike Murphy as celebrant.
Interment will be in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery.
