AURORA, W.Va. — Gladys Irene Hauser, 91, of Aurora, W.Va., died Jan. 24, 2014 at Dennett Road Nursing Home in Oakland. She was born Aug. 27, 1922, in Horse Shoe Run, W.Va., a daughter of the late Wilbur Oliver and Bessie Florence Winters Evans. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hauser; three brothers, Ralph, Cecil, and Harold Evans, and two sisters, Hilda Holland and Grace Harsh. Survivors include two sons, Jerry (Barbara) Hauser and Rodney (Sherry) Hauser, both of Oakland; one brother, Wayne Evans, Oakland; two sisters, Ruby Skinner, Oakland, and Nina Wallace, Ga.; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hauser was a Protestant by faith. She was baptized at the old Lutheran Church in Texas many years ago. She loved listening to gospel and bluegrass music. She was an avid WVU sports fan. She enjoyed farming, going to auctions, associating with people, and especially her grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Sunday, Jan. 26, at Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, Eglon, W.Va., from 2 to 8 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the church on Monday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Gary Meeks officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to services.
