CUMBERLAND — William “Bill” Robert Hout, 72, of Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2013.
Born Sept. 5, 1940, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Homer Hout and Mary Alice (Heavner) Hout. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Hout.
A graduate of Flintstone High School, Bill worked at PPG Industries and retired with 29 ½ years of service with Willison Oil, Inc. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and was a life member of Baltimore Pike Volunteer Fire Department. He was Past Master of Queen City Lodge 131 A.F. & A.M., the Scottish Rite, a member of Past Master Unit of Ali Ghan Shrine Club and also the Director’s Staff. He was a member of Piney Mountain Sportsman Club and Classy Chassis Car Club.
Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rita (Clingerman) Hout, of Cumberland; two sons, Steven G. Hout and wife Lisa, of Cumberland and William Darrell Hout and wife Beth, of Hagerstown; two grandchildren who were the light of his life, Lindsey Hout and Bryan Hout, of Hagerstown and a sister, Charlotte Rexroad, of Alexandria, Va.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., (www.AdamsFamilyfuneralhome.com), 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, MD 21502, on Saturday, April 27, 2013, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday, April 28, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Masonic service will be conducted by Queen City Lodge 131 A.F & A.M. on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at 7:30 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted in the Cornerstone Baptist Church on Monday, April 29, 2013, at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Hattenfield officiating. Friends will also be received at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
