RAY P. GOETZ [Rockville]

ROCKVILLE — Ray P. Goetz passed away at Casey House in Rockville, on Saturday, April 27, 2013.  

Born in Cumberland, Ray was the son of Raymond and Althea Engel Goetz.  

He was a veteran of the Korean War and a graduate of George Washington University. Ray began his finance career in 1960 at First Federal Savings and Loan of Washington as a real estate loan officer and construction inspector. In 1965 he joined Metropolitan Federal Savings and Loan Association in Bethesda where he rose to the position of Executive Vice President overseeing all lending operations. After retiring in 1995 he started a business providing construction loan inspections to several local financial institutions. He also found time to travel, fish, sail the Chesapeake Bay with his brother and visit his many friends in Cumberland and Deep Creek Lake.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sonja in 2007.

He is survived by his two children, Edwin Goetz of Frederick, and Donna Goetz of Virginia Beach, Va.; his twin brother, Edwin Goetz of Arlington, Va.; and his granddaughter, Amanda Blasko also of Virginia Beach.  

Friends may call at the Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 3 to 7 p.m. where services will take place on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 11 a.m.  

Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville.  

In lieu of flowers the family prefers contributions be made to Casey House Hospice, Rockville, or the American Cancer Society.
