— FROSTBURG — Dale Duane Murray, 46, of Frostburg, passed peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Friday, May 10, 2013 after a two and a half year courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born May 24, 1966, in Frostburg, he is the son of Dale Murray and Judith Ann Loar, Vale Summit. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clay and Elise Murray; and maternal grandparents, Elmer “Pete” and Mary Loar.

Dale worked as a truck driver and Driver Trainer having achieved over 1.8 million miles of Safe Driving and just received his 19 year Safe Driving Award for Pitt Ohio, and formerly worked for the D. M. Bowman Trucking Company. Throughout his high school years and beyond, he worked at the Au-Petit Restaurant where he was considered family and remained close to the St. Marie’s. He was a member of the Vale Summit United Methodist Church. Dale was passionate about riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and snowmobiling with his friends, he loved spending time with “his mistress” a 1968 LeMans automobile, and Hailey his dog.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife and angel, Vickey (Dull) Murray; four children, Brock Hillegass and wife Tressa, New Paris, Pa., with his first grandson on the way, Dillon Murray, New York, Morgen Murray, at home and partner Derrick Parker, Alexis Murray, Frostburg; brother, Mark Murray and wife Denise, Frostburg; sister, Mary Ann Kamp, West Virginia; three nephews, Kameron Kamp, Trevor Murray, and Gavin Murray; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Monday, May 13, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. George Harpold officiating

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Bob Lewis, Shawn Miller, Kenny Martin, Harry Slagle, Derrick Parker and Bobby Stevenson.

Dale, himself, stated that he would like to acknowledge and thank everyone for the love and support shown to him and his family during his difficult years.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Dales honor be made towards the family for medical expenses.
