BEANS COVE, Pa. — Clifford “Cliff” Wayne Cessna, 72, of Beans Cove, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born April 2, 1940, in Beans Cove, Cliff was the son of the late Wilbur Lamont Cessna Sr. and Ethel June (O’Neal) Cessna.  He was also preceded in death by an infant son; and three brothers, David Cessna, Carl Cessna, and Wilbur Cessna Jr.

Cliff grew up and attended Walnut Grove One Room School House in Beans Cove and working at Cessna Brothers Saw Mill.  In later years, Cliff attended LaSalle High School for two years and began a life partnership in Cessna Brothers Saw Mill and Farm. He was a very active member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church where he served as President of the Finance Committee from 1989-2012. Cliff was also a member of the Bedford County Farm Bureau, the NRA, and served on the Board of Southern States Cooperative. Cliff was also a member of the Beans Cove Outlaw Hunting Gang and thoroughly enjoyed hunting with all of them. He most enjoyed being out in the field on his tractor or driving his International Harvester Combine. He dearly loved and was loved by his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.  

Cliff is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marjorie “Midge” Ann (Miltenberger) Cessna; and his children, Howard Cessna, Ben Cessna and wife, Valerie, Wayne “Buck” Cessna and wife, Dana, Matt Cessna and wife, Christine, Clinton Cessna and wife, Susie, Leroy Cessna and wife, Jeanna, Betsy Bridges and husband, Marty and Craig Cessna and wife, Jessica, all of Beans Cove. He also leaves behind his brothers, Donald Cessna Sr. and wife, Donna, Dennis Cessna and wife, Judy, all of Beans Cove; his sisters, Betty Shriver and husband, Bill, Mabel Bible and husband, Merle, and Dorothy Yokum and husband, Dick; his grandchildren, Kylee, Courtney, Holden, Becky, Glenn, Tyler, Molly, Zane, Clayton, Lucas, Cathy, Trent, and Cooper; his great-grandchildren, Tristin and Colt; and his sisters-in-law, Emma Jean Cessna, Virginia Cessna, Shelva Dean Ott, Teresa Hershberger, and Regina Blubaugh; and his brother-in-law, Jack Miltenberger and wife, Hilda.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland,  ( on Friday, March 22, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at Seven Dolors Catholic Church on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 10 a.m. with Father Richard Tomkosky as celebrant.

Interment will be in Seven Dolors Catholic Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Donald Cessna Jr., Doug Cessna, John Cessna, Mike Cessna, Adam Cessna, Colin Cessna, Troy Cessna, and Rodger Cessna.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Cliff’s name to Seven Dolors Catholic Church, 2174 Beans Cove Road, Clearville, PA 15535.
