FROSTBURG — William Lloyd Volk, 42, of Frostburg, passed away Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, as a result of an automobile accident.
Born Nov. 7, 1971, in Cumberland, Bill was the son of Robert Lloyd Volk and his special friend, Susie Lapp, and LaVerne F. (Mort) Volk, all of Cumberland.
A graduate of Fort Hill High School, Class of 1989, Bill also graduated from Allegany College of Maryland and Frostburg State University. He was an employee of the Western Correction Institution. Bill was a member of the Saint John’s Lutheran Church, Cumberland. He was also a member of the Cumberland Outdoor Club, the Goodfellowship Club, Fort Hill Rifle and Pistol Club, the Big Savage Sportsmen’s Club, and the National Rifle Association. Bill was very active with various pool leagues in the area and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Besides his parents, Bill is survived by his grandmother, Mary Mort; his sister, Jody Volk; his niece, Brittany Rhodes; his nephew, Casey Rhodes, all of Cumberland; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Tormod Svensson officiating.
