STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — Shirley Ann Nolan, 87, of Steubenville, formerly of Mount Savage, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at Valley Hospice in Steubenville.
Born Feb. 2, 1926, in Bay City, Mich., she was the daughter of Douglas and Marie Ferguson. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, F. Joseph Nolan in 2007.
She was a former employee of the Celanese Corporation and Allegany County and a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Church in Mount Savage.
She is survived by one son, Joseph L. Nolan and wife Penny, of Medina, Ohio; two grandchildren, Ryan Nolan and wife Janet, of Steubenville, Ohio and Ellen Hess and husband Chris, of Medina, Ohio; great-grandchildren Patrick Hess, Benjamin Hess, William Hess, Darius Nolan and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland (www.scarpellifh.com) on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian wake service will be held at 7:15 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at 10 a.m. in Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, Mount Savage, with Father Greg Chervenak, O.F.M., Cap. as celebrant.
Interment will be in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Mount Savage.
