KEYSER, W.Va. — Martha Jane Eagle, 89, of Hawthorne Heights, Keyser, passed away on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at Herndon, Va.
Born on June 14, 1924 in West Union, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Albert and Mary Katherine (Shipe) Springer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clark H. Eagle on Sept. 20, 2009; and a sister, Rachel Ann Pfost.
Mrs. Eagle was a homemaker, an avid reader, a seamstress, and a craftsperson of knitting and crocheting. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Keyser, and had been very active in doing crafts for the church bazaars and friends. A very loving and devoted mother and caregiver, she will be sadly missed.
Surviving are her daughters, Caron Elise Nicely and husband Gary of Sterling, Va., Margo Manning and husband Kevin of New Market, and Marta Knorr and husband Walter of Baltimore; sister, Mary Louise Beck of Baltimore; and a grandson, Matt Manning. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Harriett Shallis and Virgie Eagle, both of Keyser.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Judi Stump officiating.
Entombment will follow in Potomac Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Keyser.
