— OAKLAND — Laura Esther (Hanlin) Shreve, 87, of Oakland, died on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital.  

Born on June 15, 1926, in Bayard, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Warner Hollen and Freda Jane (Likens) Hanlin. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Salem Shreve Jr. in 2009; son, Miles Hollen Shreve, in 1991; four sisters, Alice Marguerite Aronhalt George, Pauline Marie Reedy, Floe Jean Carter and Betty Jane Cosner and five brothers, Elmer Grant, Clyde Kenneth, Lorenza Garland, Ernest Miles and Lester William Hanlin.

Laura was a charter member of the Loch Lynn Church of God which was founded in 1958.  

She is survived by two sons, Charles Leroy Shreve and wife Pasty, of Oakland and Eugene Larry Shreve and wife Mary, of Swanton; a granddaughter, Ashley Renee Shreve; five grandsons, Jason Scott Shreve and wife Jodi, Michael Todd Shreve, Steven Eric Shreve and wife Gloria, Eugene Larry Shreve Jr. and wife Cindy and James Allen Shreve and wife Krystal; eight great-grandchildren, Kaylee Marie Shreve, Austin Joshua Shreve, Breanna Rae Shreve, Ashton Glenn Shreve, Mykenzi Elizabeth Shreve, Colin James Shreve, Layla Grace Shreve and Owen Brice Shreve and three sisters, Glenna Louise Streets, Hazel Leona Dawson and Evelyn Leanna Bosley.

Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., Oakland, on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Loch Lynn Church of God, 8649 Gorman Road, Mountain Lake Park, at which time a funeral service will be conducted with Pastor Ivan Acherman officiating.  

Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
