L. LOUIS MOULD [Prescott, Kan.]

PRESCOTT, Kan. — Leslie Louis Mould, M.D., F.R.C.P., formerly of LaVale, passed away on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, in Prescott.

He was born Sept. 10, 1925, in Orillia Ontario, Canada. He left school to join the Navy and following service was accepted into Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, where he completed his degree in 1952. He travelled to Montreal, Quebec to complete his specialty in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and subsequently began an association with the University of Maryland Medical School and Mercy Hospital in Baltimore. He continued his association with the the medical school providing graduate lectures and mentoring services for many years.

The family relocated to the Cumberland area where Dr. Mould entered a partnership with Dr. Royce Hodges and later with Dr. Ronald Kho in LaVale. He had a long association with both Memorial and Sacred Heart Hospitals and fondly recalled both colleagues and patients, joking that he delivered close to 5000 babies in his practice.

He was an avid skier, golfer, traveller and tennis player in his younger years, continuing a love for golf and travel in his later years.

He is survived by his sister, Eulah Johnson (Howard) also of Orillia Ontario; daughter Pamela Hempel (Allan), of Ottawa Ontario; son John (Kathy), of Overland Park, Kan. and daughter Alison Colbert (Greg), of Winchester, Mass.

He will be missed by grandchildren, Geoff Hempel (Erin) of Toronto, Ontario, Garrett and Keegen Mould, of Overland Park, and Helena Colbert of Winchester; by great-grandchildren, Sophia and Laika Hempel in Toronto; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by partners, Margaret (Suffel) and Patricia (Albright).

The family will receive guests at 5 p.m. on Dec. 6, 2013 with a memorial at 6 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave.,  Cumberland.
