CAROLYN V. LEHMAN [Short Gap, W.Va.]

— SHORT GAP, W.Va. — Carolyn V. Lehman, 81, of Short Gap, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born Jan. 3, 1932, in Valdosta, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Lucy Barwick and Arthur and Wilbur Hodge. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Crawford Hodge.

Carolyn spent her years with her loving husband and family.  She enjoyed going South to visit her family.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard “Mike” J B Lehman Jr.; her daughters, Vonnie Pollock and husband Robbie, Paula Caton and husband Ken and Deb Hanson and husband Tom; two sons, Bruce Lehman and wife Cherie and Mike Lehman and wife Cindy; 12 grandchildren, Rob and Jeremy Pollock, Jacob Winterstine, Asheton Caton, Dustin, Destinee, and Darian Martz, Sean and Aaron Lehman, Shayla Emerick and Sarah and Caitlin Forbeck; four great-grandchildren, Colton and Dalton Pollock and Bryce and Brielle Winterstine; one brother, Hardy Sheffler; two sisters, Vernell Patton and Carolyn McLarty and four half-brothers, Darrell, Danny, David and Dewayne Barwick.

Carolyn was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be greatly missed.

Family and friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.  

The funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Robert Whitecotton officiating.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
