CUMBERLAND — Martha “Marty” Anne Strickler, 58, of Cumberland, passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.

Born Oct. 11, 1954, in Keyser, W.Va., Mrs. Strickler was the daughter of the late Joseph Robert Arnold McGee and Mary Eleanor (Rawlings) McGee. She was also preceded in death by a half-brother, Harry Cross; a half-sister, Colleen Tooker and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Marty received a Masters in Social Work from West Virginia University and retired from the Allegany County Department of Social Services with 35 years of service. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church.

Marty is survived by her husband of 24 years, Victor Bruce Strickler and her daughter, Laura (Strickler) Dorsey and husband Trent, of Cumberland. She also leaves behind her grandson, Caden Syracuse, of Cumberland and her nephews, John Tooker, Steve Tooker, both of Long Island, N.Y. and Ronnie Cross, of Phoenix, Ariz.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Grace Baptist Church, Greene Street, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Keith Aguila officiating.
