— GREEN SPRING, W.Va. — John Henry Glaze, 76, of Green Spring, W.Va., died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, in Latrobe, Pa.

He was born Aug. 11, 1937, in Green Spring, W.Va., to the late Walter C. Glaze and Hester Ann Kerns Glaze. He was also preceded in death by his son, John Henry Glaze; two brothers; one sister; two step sisters and one step brother.

John was born, raised and lived his entire life in Green Spring. He worked for 36 years at the Kopper Company where he performed many different jobs. John enjoyed most anything that put him outside, hunting, fishing, four wheeling, running a tractor and gardening. John had a tremendous sense of spirit and fun that spilled over into all areas of his life. The true joy of his life was his family. His wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the center of his life and he loved them all dearly.

His wife of 53 years, Ethel Lorraine (Carder) Glaze; four daughters, Debbie (Steven) Snyder, of Romney, Karen (Ronnie) Everett, of Shanks, Terri Glaze, of Romney and Rhonda (Tony) Combs, of Green Spring; a brother, Richard (Nora) Glaze, of Green Spring; four sisters, Ethel Swan, of Garrett County, Gladys Powers, of Cumberland, Eva Sebold, of Green Spring and Linda (Fred) Riggleman, of Cumberland; eleven grandchildren, Mathew (Melisa) Snyder, Josh (Sara) Snyder, Albert Dean Jr., Chris Chaney, Santana Dolly, Jerid Borror, Derrick and Zack Kaylor and Jacob Glaze and step grandchild, Austin White; eight great-grandchildren, Breanna Dean, Hayden and Greyson Snyder, Brookelyn and Braylon Snyder, Autumn Dolly, Albert Dean and Melody Dick, many other family members and a special cat, Buzzy Lou.

Friends will be received on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Carolyn Wilson officiating.

Interment will be in Forest Glen Cemetery, Green Spring.
