RAYMOND J. HENSEL [Corriganville]

— CORRIGANVILLE — Raymond “Jack” Hensel, 85, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born Feb. 6, 1928, he was the son of Orlando and Elsie (Barncord) Hensel. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Earl Hensel; and grandson, Chad Hensel.

Jack retired from the Kelly Springfield Tire Company. After retirement, he drove a school bus for many years, always enjoying the children. He was a proud World War II Army veteran, having served in Guam. He was a member of the Corriganville Volunteer Fire Company, the Mount Savage VFW and a life member of the Piney Mountain Sportsman Association.

He is survived by three sons, Ron Hensel and wife, Pat, Ellerslie, Tim Hensel and wife, Rhonda, Corriganville and Rick Hensel, Corriganville; four grandchildren, Jason Hensel and wife, Teal, Eckhart, Kristie Wilhelm and husband, Jed, Cresaptown, Kelly Hensel and fiancé, Billy O’Neal, LaVale and David Hensel, USAF, Virginia; four great-grandchildren, Lily and Emma Rose Hensel, Braelyn and Bennett Wilhelm.  

There will be no visitation.  

Internment will be in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery.

Pappy Jack loved being with his family. He looked forward to spending Sundays with his sons and Christmas was his favorite holiday. He was truly a Santa Claus.

He will be greatly missed but we are thankful that he lived a full life.
