CUMBERLAND — Ronald Franklin Twigg, 76, of Cumberland, passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family.
Born Dec. 22, 1935, in Cumberland, Mr. Twigg was the son of Genevieve Grace (Bishop) Twigg, of Cumberland and the late John Franklin Twigg. He was also preceded in death by a twin brother, Donald Twigg.
A United States Naval veteran of the Korean Era, Ron retired from the Teamsters Union. He was a member of the Fort Cumberland Post 13 American Legion and the Wiley Ford Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 271.
Ron is survived by his wife of 27 years, Margaret Louise Twigg; his son, Ronald Glen Twigg, of Green Spring, W.Va. and his daughters, Rhonda Faye Jessen and husband Lee, of Wiley Ford, W.Va., Sonya Renee Gilbert and husband John, of Lancaster, N.H. and Teresa Jo Twigg, of Carpendale, W.Va. He is also survived by his brother, William Charles Twigg and wife Dorothy, of Cresaptown; his grandchildren, Michael, Erik, Adam, Jarett, Jordan, Jeffrey, Kala and Jacob; as well as eight great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Fred Iser officiating.
Interment will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
Pallbearers will be his son and the grandsons.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post 13 Veterans Honor Guard.
