FORT MYERS, Fla. — Dennis R. Maphis, 63, formerly of Cumberland and residing in Fort Myers, Fla., was reunited with his family and our Lord on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in Jacaranda Manor, Saint Petersburg, Fla.
Born Dec. 8, 1949, in Cumberland, Mr. Maphis was the son of the late Kenneth Paul Maphis and Ruth (Mauzy) Maphis.
Dennis was a beautiful baby, challenged by his physical and mental limitations because of a difficult entrance into this world. He loved everyone he met and showed it by his powerful hugs. He is blessed to be in the arms of his Heavenly Father.
Dennis is survived by a brother, Michael T. Maphis, of Fort Myers, Fla.; a loving aunt, Madeline (Mauzy) Boggess, of Cumberland; two very caring cousins, Ramona Heavner, of Flintstone and Rebecca Rosiack, of Rock Hill, S.C. as well as numerous aunts and cousins.
A private funeral service will be conducted in the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) with the Rev. Fred Iser officiating.
Interment will be in the International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery, Flintstone.
